Purpose of knowledge article

  • Explain what is 1Password Travel mode
  • How to set 1Password Travel mode

Background

  • Travel mode works on all 1Password platforms but can only be managed through the browser
  • 1Password Travel mode is a feature that removes vaults from your computers and mobile devices, except those you mark as safe for travel. If you are stopped for inspection while traveling, the only vaults on your devices will be the ones you’ve marked as safe for travel

How to set up Travel Mode:

  1. Mark vaults as 'safe for travel' if you want to be able to access them while Travel mode is on. See the 1Password Travel FAQ section 'To mark vaults as safe for travel'
Note: by default 'safe for travel' is not turned on
  2. Be sure to configure each vault separately on how you want them to be accessible when Travel mode is on. See the 1Password Travel FAQ section 'Use Managed Travel Mode'

To turn on or off Travel Mode:

  • Once you have your Trvel mode set up. You can turn it on or off, see the 1Password Travel FAQ section 'Use Travel Mode'
