Be sure to test your chosen remote options prior to working remotely. If you need assistance, contact the IT Help Desk at x4357.

Help Desk has limited ability to troubleshoot ISP issues outside the Lab. If you are unable to connect to the internet outside the Lab, you may need to contact your ISP.


Lab sites can be accessed anywhere, though some will require the use of VPN. (Secure sites including FMS, HRIS, etc.)

VPN

If you need to access secure Lab websites, you will want to install and run Cisco VPN which is located here.

Connecting to a Network Drive

If you need access to a network drive, there are two ways it can be done:

  • Remote into your computer at work, using the software recommendations below.
  • Turn on VPN and map to the drive(s) on the offsite computer. ( Mapping instructions Windows and Mac.)

Issues Connecting to the Lab

If you are able to connect to the network and access non-lab websites but cannot access lab resources or websites, it is possible that you have been blocked. You will need to contact [email protected] or x4357 with your IP address to remove the block.
