The Information Technologies (IT) Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) invites applications for the Science-IT Internship program (SCIIT).


NOTE: Currently, applications are not being accepted to this program for summer 2019 - please check this space for forthcoming updates.


For students majoring in Computational Science, Computer Science, Physical Science or related science and engineering fields, Berkeley Lab’s SCIIT hosts a 10-12-week summer program that provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience. Participants have the opportunity to work on projects focusing on embedded research support, high-performance computing and application of IT capabilities and collaborative and creative technologies to promote division communication and branding.

The hourly wage based on upon years of education completed in an accredited academic program. Applicants are responsible for housing and travel expenses.

Applications for spring semester 2019 program are due by December 30, 2018.

Applications for the summer 2019 program are due by April 29, 2019.

Summer program dates are June through August.  The exact start date is at the mutual convenience of the students and the needs of the program.
