Chrome applications are downloaded in the chrome web store.
How to add an Application
- Navigate to the Google Chrome Web Store.
- Find the application that you would like to install.
- Next select the blue button on the right of the application "ADD TO CHROME"
- Next confirm that this is the application you would like to add.
- After clicking add app the application will begin to download.
Pinning Applications to your Shelf
- Find the app you would like to pin and click with two fingers on the track pad on it (right click with a mouse).
- Then press Pin to shelf and now it will be displayed in your shelf
- To unpin an item from the task bar right click it and select unpin.
