Overview

The Research Services Team (Library) provides access to an array of online and print resources, including access to more than 4,000 online journal titles, e-books, and databases. A reference librarian is on staff to help you with your literature research and to help locate and retrieve scientific materials.

  • The Journals , Books , Science Databases , Library Catalogs , InterLibrary Loan and LBNL Reports  are available to LBNL employees 24 hours a day, seven days a week, except when the servers are being maintained. If off site or on site and using wireless, use the LBNL VPN  to set up your computer.
  • We currently have one physical book collection.  Our newest collection is located in the Reading Lounge in Building 54, the room beneath the Cafeteria.  This location is open the hours that the Cafeteria Building is open, generally 6:30 AM-5:00 PM M-F.  The rest of the collection is in storage during the Library move.  More information about the new location is forthcoming.  
  • The reference librarian is generally available between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM in 50-4032 on workdays and can be reached at [email protected] or (510) 486-5621.

  • Scientific Databases such as Web of Science, INSPEC, and Scifinder are also available.
