Policy Summary

This policy provides guidance on the acquisition of Laboratory/government vehicles.

Berkeley Lab supplies each Laboratory division, department, or group with access to effective transportation equipment to meet its mission in the most cost-effective manner. 

Who Should Read This Policy

• Berkeley Lab employees who need to acquire vehicles (sedans, trucks, GEMs [electric vehicles], etc.) for Laboratory division purposes

• Fleet Operations personnel who purchase or lease vehicles from the General Services Administration or other sources
• Berkeley Lab divisions and staff requesting a vehicle for long- or short-term use at the Laboratory
