POLICY

A. Purpose

This policy provides Projects and Infrastructure Modernization Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) with directions on project management of capital-asset acquisitions (new construction projects such as additional or replacement buildings). Berkeley Lab requires projects to be completed on schedule, within budget, and fully capable of meeting the Laboratory's mission performance, safeguards and security, and Environment, Safety & Health standards.

B. Persons Affected

This policy applies to Projects and Infrastructure Modernization Division employees who work on facility and infrastructure projects.

D. Policy Statement

All Projects and Infrastructure Modernization Division employees who work on construction projects will adhere to the Projects and Infrastructure Modernization Division Procedures Manual and, when applicable, DOE Directive 413.3B in order to provide mission-ready facilities for Berkeley Lab.
