Requesting a Custom URL for your Google Site

If you would like a custom lbl.gov URL (ex: something.lbl.gov) for your Google site, please complete the following steps:

1. Publish your Google Site and record the URL (ex: https://sites.google.com/lbl.gov/something)
   
   
2. Browse to https://iprequest.lbl.gov
   
   
3. Enter your custom URL subdomain into the field next to lbl.gov (ex: something.lbl.gov) and click next
   
   
   
   
4. Add at least two Contact usernames and a Location (ex: Google Site) and click Select a type
   
   
   
   
5. Select CNAME from the drop-down list and then click next
   
   
6. Enter ghs.googlehosted.com in the Target field and click next
   
   
   
   
7. Click queue and then you will receive two emails from LBLnet: one confirming your request has been submitted and another once the change has been committed. 
   
   
8. Once your IP request has been committed by LBLnet, email help@lbl.gov requesting a Custom URL for your Google Site and be sure include the following in your message:
   1. Custom lbl.gov URL
   2. Published URL for your Google site and
   3. Note that your IP Request was submitted and committed by LBLnet
