BASIC SEARCH OPERATIONS
The basic search tokenizes the terms in your query and performs a boolean OR search for those terms in the configured search index fields. If you do not specify any other operators, the search engine matches only those search index fields that match the tokens from your search. That is, if you search for john doe, the search engine will match records where one of the record's attributes contains the string johnor the string doe.
PHRASE SEARCHES
You may match an entire phrase by enclosing yor search in quotation marks. If you search for "john doe", you will only match records that contain a field that contains the exact phrase john doe.
BOOLEAN AND PRESENCE SEARCHES
You may perform boolean searches using AND and OR. Note that these operators are case-sensitive. You may also use + and - to require or forbid terms in your result. john AND doewill find all records where there are fields that match bothjohn and doe. +john +doe will match the same records. +john -doe will match records in which at least one field matches johnbut no fields match doe.
WILDCARD SEARCHES
You may perform wildcard searches using * or ?, where *replaces any number of characters and ? replaces exactly one character. j* AND d* would match John Doe, as would j?hn AND d?e.
FIELD SEARCHES
You may search individual fields, using a Google-like syntax.first:john searches for records with a first name of john. bldg:50* searches for everyone with a building number in the 50 complex. ext:4000 searches for records with a telephone extension of x4000.

- phone: list of phone numbers
- pphone: primary telephone number
- loc: list of locations
- ploc: primary location
- bldg: list of buildings
- div: division name
- org: LBL org code
- status: account status (Active or Inactive)
- class: employee class
