Provide a workaround for an issue when Browser Gives an "Update Your browser" Message When Opening A Link To A Google Drive Within A Microsoft File (Excel, Powerpoint & Word) on Windows systems.
Resolution
1 | Right-click on the Start menu button | ||||||||||
2 | Click Run | ||||||||||
3 | Type in regedit | ||||||||||
4 | Click OK | ||||||||||
5 | In the Registry Editor, browse to the following location based on the bit version of Office and Windows you have Note: Create the keys if they do not exist |

6 | Make sure the Internet subkey is selected | ||||||||||
7 | Select Edit on the menu bar at the top | ||||||||||
8 | Select New | ||||||||||
9 | Select DWORD Value | ||||||||||
10 | You will see a New Value #1 appear, rename it to ForceShellExecute | ||||||||||
11 | Double-click on ForceShellExecute | ||||||||||
12 | Change the Value Data field from 0 to 1 | ||||||||||
13 | Click OK | ||||||||||
14 | Exit the Registry Editor | ||||||||||
15 | Save your work and exit all the software and restart the computer |
