The Laboratory will respond promptly and effectively to reports of harassment, including sexual harassment, and will take appropriate action to prevent, to correct, and if necessary, to discipline behavior that violates this policy. The Laboratory will not tolerate harassment that affects tangible job benefits, interferes unreasonably with an individual's work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Such harassment may include, for example, making or using derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, or jokes; or teasing or badgering a person about his/her protected status.
