Berkeley Lab encourages and facilitates the resolution of employee complaints in a prompt and equitable manner. An employee should first attempt to resolve a complaint with his/her immediate supervisor or [divisional HR Center|https://www.lbl.gov/Workplace/HumanResources/html/Staff-Information/center-contacts.html], although this does not extend the deadline for filing a written request for formal review. This policy provides information on filing a formal complaint.

* This policy applies to all nonprobationary [Career|http://www.lbl.gov/Workplace/RPM/R2.01.html#secf1], [Term|http://www.lbl.gov/Workplace/RPM/R2.01.html#secf4], [Postdoctoral Fellow|http://www.lbl.gov/Workplace/RPM/R2.28.html] employees.

* This policy applies to nonrepresented employees. Represented employees should consult their collective bargaining agreement.
