Berkeley Lab IT is continually striving to enhance computer security, provide a better user experience and lower costs to stretch dollars for science. One way to achieve all three objectives is the migration away from standard Windows or Mac computers and towards a Chrome OS device. User authentication is simplified enabling users to only remember their Berkeley Lab Identity username and password. Chrome OS is ideal for users who utilize the G-Suite and live in a browser environment. Users that log into virtual environments could utilize a cheaper, faster computing devices device by adopting Chrome OS.
