Try this when Spotlight search does not come up when hitting the hotkey or using the symbol at the toolbar
Known issue on MacOS devices

Resolution:

1	Find the Spotlight Search symbol on the righthand side of your toolbar, at the top of your screen by default
2	Click and hold the Left mouse button on the Spotlight Search symbol until the Spotlight Search bar repositions to your active monitor

The device has been used with a multi-monitor setup and the search bar is trying to display on the former primary monitor
