When an employee terminates and has “Find My iPhone/iPad” activated on the iPhone or iPad, the device must be unlocked and reactivated.
For LBNL Owned iPhones/iPads with Cell Service Before Employee Leaves:
Telephone Services/IT must be contacted before employee terminates
Telephone Services/IT will request and confirm that the user turned off “Find My iPhone” and the Passcode Lock
Telephone Services/IT will reset the iPhone/iPad back to factory default to be repurposed in the current division/dept that originally purchased the device
For LBNL Owned iPhones/iPads After Employee Leaves:
A factory reset will clear the Passcode Lock only, but the iPad cannot be reactivated without going through Apple’s reactivation procedure
Obtain the serial number of the iPad either from the back of the iPad or through ams.lbl.gov and obtain the PO number for search in brslite
Contact Apple Enterprise Support 866-752-7753 and request a release of “Find My iPhone” for the iPhone/iPad providing the serial number. This generated a case number.
Obtain a screen shot from brslite of the full PO details of the iPad purchase and save in PDF format. This will act as the proof of purchase.
Apple will then send an email form (see below) to be filled out and submitted to [email protected] with proof of purchase.
Submit the form and the proof of purchase:
