Background
On Nov 29, 2023, Marq sent more than a thousand email messages to Berkeley Lab, an example is below. This message is not a phish nor is it malicious. However, for the vast majority of people at the Lab, it is NOT necessary to take action and can be ignored, marked as spam or deleted as it does not apply to you.
Once this spam campaign was discovered, Berkeley Lab IT moved the vast majority of message to SPAM automatically using Google tools. However, some people, likely you if you are reading this, did receive the message.
Marq is a rebranding of LucidPress, a product used by some people at the Lab. Berkeley Lab IT will work with Marq to make sure they don't send such message in the future.
