Listed here are the various ebook packages we have access to, with a short description of the contents of each.
ASM Handbooks Online: Features the complete content of twenty-five ASM Handbook volumes plus two ASM Desk Editions.
ASTM Standards: Formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials, is a vast collection of industry-leading standards and technical engineering information that covers a broad range of engineering disciplines.
CHEMnetBASE: A collection of chemical dictionaries and handbooks.
Cold Harbor Monograph Archive: A collection of at least 50 full-text scholarly monographs.
ebrary: A database of more than 37,000 complete e-books covering computers and IT and more.
ENGnetBASE: A collection of more than 200 handbooks in all areas of engineering.
ENVIROnetBASE: A collection of handbooks in the environmental sciences.
eScholarship- Water Resources Center: Includes technical completion reports sponsored or supported by the Water Resources Center of the University of California. Also provides papers on hydrology and river and stream restoration.
Gale Directory Library: A database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources.
Google Book Search: Searches the full text of books on many subjects, including some from the University of California libraries. The full text of a book can be displayed only if the book is out of copyright (generally, published before 1923) or if the copyright holder has given permission. This system is still in "beta" stage, so results may vary as Google makes changes in its programming.
HathiTrust: Pronounced "hah-tee trust", this cooperative system contains millions of books scanned from UC and other major research libraries, including those digitized by Google and the Internet Archive. Full text is available for items that are not protected by copyright.
IEEE Conference Proceedings: Contains over 900 IEEE conference proceedings
JSTOR: Provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books, and primary sources in 75 disciplines
Marquis Who's Who: Professional and personal profiles of key U.S. and International figures.
MATHnetBASE: A collection of mathematics handbooks including standard mathematical tables and formulas.
MRS Proceedings Online Library: The MRS Online Proceedings Library features over 68,000 peer-reviewed papers presented at MRS Meetings. The proceedings papers can be viewed sorted by meeting or topic, and are fully searchable
MUSE: Has over 674 journals from 125 publishers and offers over 50,000 books from more than 100 presses
National Academies Press: Includes more than 3000 free, online books. NAP publishes over 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science, engineering, and health.
Oxford Reference Online: A huge range of fully-indexed, extensively linked, up to date, and cross-searchable dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works.
Oxford Scholarship Online Physics eBooks: Over 130 Oxford physics titles.
PubMed Bookshelf: Contains over 30 biomedical texts.
RSC Ebook Collection: Scientific publisher of biology, biophysics, chemistry, materials, medicinal drug discovery and physics high-impact books.
Safari Tech Books Online: Online collection of over 1000 computer manuals published by O'Reilly.
Science Direct: Over 400 books in Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Mathematics.
Springer Electronic Books Package: Includes nearly 20,000 Springer e-books from nearly every scientific discipline.
Springer Protocols: The largest subscription-based electronic database of reproducible laboratory protocols and laboratory handbooks in the Life and Biomedical Sciences.
STATSnetBASE: A collection of statistics handbooks including standard statistical tables and formulas. Covers introductory statistics, statistical theory, probability theory and their applications to various disciplines.
Wiley Online Library Ebook Collection: Includes 950 books with a 2011 publication date. The collection includes books in the life, health and the physical sciences.
World Scientific Ebooks: Contains titles in the major scientific disciplines.
