Guide to updating or resetting Berkeley Lab Identity account password. This is the same password for your LBNL account, email, VPN, LETS, and all other LBNL web services systems.

1 | Check if your Google Authenticator app is connected to your LBNL email account. If it is, see the Save MFA Tokens without Using an Account instruction to check and unlink them. If your Google Authenticator app is not connected to your LBNL email account, continue to step 2. | no image | |
2 | Go to the website https://password.lbl.gov | ||
3 | Select "I forgot my password or it expired, so I need a reset code."

4 | Confirm that you are not a robot and click Begin | ||
5 | Enter your Berkeley Lab username and click Next | ||
6 | Select the desired contact method and click Next | ||
7 | You will receive a reset code on the contact method you selected previously. Type in your Berkeley Lab username and the reset code | ||
8 | Create a brand new password with at least 14 characters that you have not used with the Lab before and click Save. | ||
9 | If your password is accepted, you will see a message saying your password has successfully been changed | No image |
