Purpose of Knowledge Article:
Guide to updating or resetting Berkeley Lab Identity account password. This is the same password for your LBNL account, email, VPN, LETS, and all other LBNL web services systems.
Resolution:
When doing this, it is best to use Google Chrome in Incognito mode.
1 | Go to the website https://password.lbl.gov | |
2 | Select "I forgot my password or it expired, so I need a reset code." For expired passwords, this will only work if within 10 days of expiration. If past 10 days, call 510-486-4357 or chat (to start chatting, click on the icon in the bottom right of this page). | |
3 | Confirm that you are not a robot and click Begin | |
4 | Enter your Berkeley Lab username and click Next | |
5 | Select the desired contact method and click Next | |
6 | You will receive a reset code on the contact method you selected previously. Type in your Berkeley Lab username and the reset code | |
7 | Create a brand new password with at least 14 characters that you have not used with the Lab before and click Save. | |
8 | If your password is accepted, you will see a message saying your password has successfully been changed | No image |
