CrowdStrike Falcon runs in the background automatically, and there is no user-accessible interface. This is to improve security. If someone compromises your computer, they can not disable CrowdStrike Falcon.

CrowdStrike Falcon is not available for non-LBL computers for the following reasons:
- Lab IT does not provide technical services or support for non-LBL-issued computers and does not monitor, configure, or secure those systems
- CrowdStrike offers many advantages over traditional antivirus, but these have less value at home. Traditional antivirus tools such as Windows Defender offer significant protection for home use
- We value your privacy. CrowdStrike collects information about the processes and network connections and can record that in its database. It would not be appropriate to collect and log such information from non-LBL-issued systems

Will CrowdStrike Falcon slow down my computer?
Unlike traditional antivirus, the software does not scan your hard drive, so there is less impact just by the architecture differences. There is no perceptible performance impact on your computer. The sensor’s design makes it incredibly lightweight (consuming 1% or less of CPU) and unobtrusive: there’s no UI, fewer reboots, and all updates are performed silently and automatically when possible.
