End-station 1:

The STOE single-crystal diffractometer on End-station 1 is currently operating with a RDI 1M CMOS detector.

Some specs here

End-Station 2:

End-station 2 currently employs 2 area detectors:

  • Mar345 image plate reader:

    • Pixel size: Variable: 100 um x 100 um or 150 um x 150 um

    • Dynamic range: 16 bit, no readout noise

    • Active Area: circular with 345 mm diameter

    • Closest distance to diffraction volume: ~ 270 mm

    • Cycle time: ~ 90 secs read out plus exposure time; needs ~ 90 secs erasure with X-ray alignment activities between exposure

    • Exposure time is shutter controlled via LabView link

    • File format: .mar345 format (readable by most diffraction data reduction software (Dioptas, fit2d)

    • File size: ~ 8 MB (100 um pixel size), ~ 5 MB (150 um pixel size)

  • Dectris: Pilatus3 S 1M Hybrid Photon Counting detector

    • Pixel size: 172 um x 172 um

    • Dynamic range: 20 bit, no readout noise

    • Active Area: rectangular 168.7 (h) x 179.4 (v) mm (981 x 1043 pixels). This includes 1 vertical (7 pixels) and 4 horizontal (17 pixels) gaps.

    • Closest distance to diffraction volume: ~ 250 mm

    • Cycle time: < 100 msec readout, i.e. controlled by exposure time

    • Exposure time is electronically gated. No erasure cycle needed after X-ray activities.

    • File format: tiff or cbf

    • File size: ~ 4 MB
