Where this command is found:

This command is found in the BCS main window under the pulldown menu Motors.

Motors → Display will open this sub-window, which allows one to move selected motors / stages individually:

In general: Grey fields are read only, white fields allow a value to be entered.


(1) Motor Selection

This pull down menu (click into the field) allows you to select a specific motor. If a motor is greyed out, it is not enabled. Call the BL Scientist if you can't find the motor/stage you want to move or if it is greyed out.


(2) Current Position

The value in the grey field indicates the current position of the motor selected in (1).


(3) Move Mode

This is a toggle button that allows to switch between absolute move ("Abs") and relative move ("Jog").

Absolute ("Abs"):

Enter the absolute target value into (4) and press the "Move" button.

Relative ("Jog"):

Enter a step-size into (4) and press either the up arrow (positive step) or the down arrow (negative step). 


(4) Target position / Step Size

Enter the absolute target position (Absolute Mode) or step-size (Jog Mode)
