Employee skills system

  • Kecia spoke with Leila.
  • Next actions are to meet with Chris D. and Nancy to review the card sorting exercise outcomes
  • Employee skills profiles. See who we can talk to, to find information about what skills are available.
  • Existing system developed within ESA(?) division. Each employee has skills that are tagged.
  • Nigel and Tina agree that this would be useful for the JGI.
  • Employees can update their own profiles on the JGI profile, can attach keywords for their profile, and other people can search their profile.
  • The ideal solution is to use the existing solution that Leila is looking into.
  • Could this be brought into the current employee development plan?
  • The website may be public? Not sure

Knowledge base

  • Need different forums for each domain. Have forums set up.
  • We'll have an informatics, lab forum, HR, and PMO based forum. Card sorting exercise will help us define the forums. Likely going to have 5-7 forums.
  • Follow up with Leila on setting up the first forum version. One forum for the "JGI tech answers" forum.
  • Follow up with Leila on first content. Provide RQC wiki.

Announcements

  • What is the best way to get announcements out for the JGI data science classes.
  • Simona would like to see history of events and announcements.
  • Inside JGI is one example of this.
