42 CIOs and senior business leaders from Singapore visited Berkeley Lab on 9/18 to learn more about the lab's IT and computing initiatives. The visiting CIOs received an overview of laboratory IT from CIO Rosio Alvarez and an overview of the challenges associated with large data transfer from ESnet's Eli Dart. Next up was an overview of data center energy efficiency research and findings from EETD's Dale Sartor and a tour of the Berkeley Research Computing Center in building 50. The visit was part of a 2 week long learning experience organized by the Singapore IT Management Association.
