h3.Policy Summary
A Record of Invention (ROI) must be submitted to Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Management by employees, guests, or others using Berkeley Lab resources or facilities who have invented something unique and potentially commercially useful. It is the inventor's responsibility to report all inventions within six months of conception or first actual reduction to practice, whichever occurs first. Inventors must also comply with specific recordkeeping requirements.
