With requirements in full effect for review of all ‘'Data from People,' the HARC Office is in person with the Human Subjects Committee members who review these projects and current Lab researchers conducting this work to answer your questions!

        Does it make a difference if I collect information anonymously instead of with names?
        What if I just want a couple of quotes and not a systematic investigation?
      - How does the Human Subjects Committee review these protocols?
        What kind of criteria is used for approval of HSR?
        What about “Exempt” HSR, my colleagues don’t have to go through an IRB for this?
      - Are there people at the Lab who can help with best practices for my project design?
        Are there social science research design practices that should still apply with user experience research or general surveys for program evaluation?

Required Reviews of all DATA FROM PEOPLE by the HARC Office - Human Subjects Determination
- - - - Collecting data from people through anonymous feedback surveys, expert interviews and focus groups.
        Developing algorithms with or otherwise analyzing data sourced from people, even when publicly-available or de-identified e.g., population-level health information, customer data, genomic sequences, or images or video of the general public
        Purchasing or receiving anonymous human samples from a collaborator for analysis or to conduct testing.
