What is it?

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their laptop.

What does it do?

The eduroam SSID puts users on the "visitor" network as opposed to the "employee" network. Although it requires authentication, there are different access controls in place. For example, you can't access eBuy or Facilities Keyplans on eduroam since it's open to other eduroam-participating institutions.

How do I configure my device so I can use it?

Before you start your trip, make sure that your laptop and mobile devices have been set up to work with eduroam. Instructions for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android devices are here.

Note: if you change your enterprise directory (LDAP) password, you will have to change it on your device.  go here for help.

The SSID for LBL's  implementation is eduroam.  As of 4/2/15, this network is currently in 6, 7, 15,  33, 50, 50C, 50E, 50F, 65,70, 70A,  65A, 65B, 80, 80A, 88, 90 & 90 trailers.

The roll-out schedule for the next set of buildings can be found here.
