As of May 30, the look and feel for search will change

• search for partial words (for example the first four letters of name) can be accomplished with the * wildcard character. 
  • smit* will result in names such as smith or smithe
  • *smit will result in names such as asmit, aaaasmit and so on
• search for phone numbers will accept the extension if that is all you know  
• search by employee number requires all 6 digits  (e.g. 000111)  as well as the wildcard similar to names (either preceeding or after the numbers you know)
