The Shops comply with LBNL Publication-3000 Chapter 27 Cranes , Hoisting and Rigging

The general provisions that Shop guests and visitors should be aware of are:

"*All personnel...within 15 feet of the vertical plane of the load, where the under carriage of the bridge is more than 12 feet from the ground, must wear ANSI-approved hard hats."

It is the responsibility of all employees, guests and visitors to maintain a minimum 15 feet distance from all crane operations, unless properly equipped with an ANSI approved hard hat. Hard hats are available, should they be required.
