Connecting to lbnl-employee using the Intel wireless card on Vista and Windows 7
The upper images are for Windows 7, and the lower images are for Windows Vista.
These instructions assume you have the Intel drivers and software installed.
If you do not have the Intel network authentication method type listed in step 7, you need to install software from
Intel download center.
Search for your wireless card type and install the driver and software installer package.

|1. From the Start menu, open the Control Panel. Open the Network and Internet category, then the Network and Sharing Center.|
|2. In the Tasks list, select "Manage Wireless Networks."|
|3. Click the Add button to set up a new network.|
|4. Select "Manually create a network profile."|
|5. In the Network name field, enter lbnl-employee. Select WPA2-Enterprise as the Security type. Leave the Encryption type at AES. Click Next.|
|6. Select "Change connection settings" to modify the security settings of this network.|
|7. The Connection tab should have the correct settings. Select the Security tab at the top. In the "Security type:" menu, choose WPA2-Enterprise (In Vista, choose Intel - WPA2 -Enterprise.) In the "Encryption type:" menu, choose AES. In the "Choose a network authentication method:" menu, select "Intel: EAP-TTLS." Click the Settings button (In Vista, Click the "Configure..." button.) The "Remember my credentials..." checkbox will save your username and password for automatic connection to this network.|
|8. (For Vista, In the Authentication Type: menu choose TTLS.) In the Authentication Protocol: menu choose PAP. To save your username and password, in the User Credentials: menu choose "Use the following" and enter your username and password. Or, for greater security, in the User Credentials: menu choose "Prompt each time I connect." Click Next.|
|9. Uncheck the "Validate Server Certificate" checkbox. Click OK. You will be returned to the "Manually connect to a wireless network" window (shown in step 6.) Click Close.|
|10. Locate the network icon in the notifier area.|
|11. Click the icon to bring up the menu and select lbnl-employee. (On Vista, click the icon to bring up the menu and select "Connect to a network.")|
|12. Vista Only: Select lbnl-employee in the list. Click Connect.|
|13. Enter your LBNL LDAP username and password. Leave the domain blank. Click Next.|
|14. To confirm you are connected, click on the Wireless network icon in the notifier area shown in step 10. (Vista Only - The message in the window following step 12 should confirm you are connected to lbnl-employee. Click Close.)|
