  • Do not send duplicate copies, published materials such as books or articles, or computer/equipment manuals.

  • No computer discs, CD's, DVD's, or any other electronic storage media are to be transferred. Information on such media should be submitted in hard copy.  For information on managing electronic records at LBNL, please go here.

  • Do not send hanging file folders or binders. Put documents in a labeled file folder.

  • Boxes are to be completely filled, but with enough room left to pull files with ease. The last box of an accession may be less than full, but excess space should be padded so the records remain upright.
  • Do not write in permanent marker on the boxes. Only write the box number in the upper right hand corner in pencil.
  • Put a copy of the records listing in box 1.

  • Do not tape the boxes shut - fold down the box flaps.
