Feedback from the people who attended Toastmaster training in July

Brian -

*don't dance around the elephant in the room

*how can you find positive things to say

*prioritize what you comment on

Julie

*hamburger method (not sandwich) - less substantial but nice comments first, meat of the comments in the middle, and best nice comment in the end

*evaluate as if it was your sole responsibility to make that person the best speaker in the world.

Laura -

*having a guest sign in book for feedback, (where did you hear about us, what did you like, etc)

*make sure a guest has a buddy at the meeting to explain how things might work and to follow up with

*get ask me about toastmaster pins

*info/cards/brochures for new people

*give prizes - people who bring a guest, people who use the Word of the Day

Executive Committee Meeting Time

*Once a month

*Wednesdays

*Closer to the end of the month

Date June 11, 2018

Swell -

  • maybe a different time - later in the day
  • 'stage' had no audience
  • position of the speakers and the wind caused loss of volume
  • thai ice tea was a good thing - people came to the booth just for the tea and then learned something about Toastbusters

Elections

Hopefully new executive team will work on defining the process early and

Protocol

  • President opens and closes the meeting
  • Everyone who comes up should greet the audience - mention fellow toastmasters and guests
  • Don't need to thank people giving speeches
  • Introductions need to be worked on a bit - Toastmaster should gather the introductions if speakers forget and the toastmaster delivers the meeting
  • Meeting should start on time - President can start talking at 2pm

Publicity

  • Video of table topics
  • maybe offer goodies?
  • maybe a video on the goodies
  • goodie master/joke master
